What part of northern NJ? Do you just want the best burger or do does it have to be charbroiled? I am not always sure of the cooking methods at my favorite burger places.

Thanks for your responses so far. Northeast Jersey is okay. I'm looking for the flame charbroiled flavor, even though a better overall burger is probably made on a flat grill. That's a great list of burger places on that link, thanks.

The Fireplace, NJ 17 North at Ridgewood Av., Paramus, and the Hearth, US 46 West in Clifton, come immediately to mind. If you like slices of fresh onion and new pickles on your charcoal broiled burger (and on the side, with the pickles), you should be happy at either.
