quick disconnect hoses

Ok I bought a griddle at an auction and when it came time to d/c the hose, it turned out to be a nice thick quick disconnect hose. The one end was attached to the griddle and the other piece was stuck to the pipe. I couldn't get it off, WAY to grease caked.  Now my question is, Since this was a natural gas location and nat gas was used, Can I just buy the other end of the quick d/c hose and use it in my trailer or would it NOT be safe using it for propane.

I don't see why there would be a problem using it for propane, they are both vapor, under pressure.
What about the conversion from NG to LP ?

In Springfield the HD is forcing all B&M restaurants to use them. They want the equipment rolled out and the wall behind cleaned each night. I'm hearing from a couple of owners that they are expensive but worth it.

The threads are different so you can't use one on the other.  The pressure is much higher on LP and they don't want mistakes.

That's strange I'm not saying your wrong but every body shop in the country uses them.

JUST DON"T USE AIR QUICK CONNECTS!!! ONLY USE GAS QUICK CONNECTS!

I have to find the male end that connects to the black iron. I have to pull the griddle out and clean it anyways so I will see what size i need. Hopefully I can buy just the male end instead of a whole new set. THose things are pricey.... I always like pictures... Thanks everyone & Lorna for the pics

Interesting.  In the barbecue industry there isn't a way you can interchange them without changing the manifold to which the hose connects.
 
To make sure it doesn't happen the industry makes one 3/8" thread and the other 1/4 or 1/2 inch.

This is an outdoor Nat/LP gas hose with quick connects that we picked up at an auction for a very good price. We have used it on our RV which we fitted out with a homebrewed "extend-a-stay" set up which is simply a gas hose fitting "t"ed into the main LP gas piping so that we can run a stand alone LP tank (20# BBQ, 30#, 100# tall tank) with out having to have the 40# permanent LP tank on the RV filled (PITA to move the RV when set up on a site). We used a gas quick connect fitting to make hooking up the hose easier. There seems to be no difference between the LP threads/fittings and the Natural Gas. We have changed out some of the fittings on the hose with LP gas fittings we had on hand. The pictures show all original fittings to the hose.The only difference between Nat gas & LP gas that we have run into is the orifices and the regulators. We have had to change several appliances from Nat gas to LP by changing out the orifices. No other parts were different.

This is the gas quick connect we bought in GA back in 2006. The Grey hose shown above will connect right into this fitting. The red handled fitting is a gas shut off valve. The female part of the quick connect is supposed to have a valve inside that will close prevent the gas from leaking out. I prefer to have a gas shut off valve that I shut off when I disconnect the extra tanks.
