Where's the NYC Health Dept? Thu, 10/27/11 5:09 AM (permalink)
I can't imagine that the food service areas set up to feed Occupy Wall Street protesters come close to meeting HD Requirements. The quickest, most peaceful way to dispurse them is to send in HD inspectors and shut off their food supply. They'll get hungry and go home to momma's cooking. Hard to protest on an empty stomach. I'm sure there are other HD regs that are being violated as well as far as sanitation is concerned.

Their food tent in LA was shut down for that very reason. I have a feeling it wouldn't be so easy to do in NYC though.

The NY Times did a story about the food in Zuccotti Park:

There's a follow-up story where they've stopped serving all of that good food to try and weed out the professional homeless and ex-cons that are there for a free meal. Food rationing and unwarranted tent searches, sounds like fun.
