I know a lot of folks here don't care for Talapia, I like it.Yesterday I bought a package of their Seafood stuffed Talapia, 2 portions per pack. Folks it was really, really good. Anyone tried it? If not, you should, no way you can't like it!

Tilapia is a very mild, almost tasteless, farmed fish. It is beloved by people who don't like fish. Stuffing it with something is a way to give a bit of taste to it's blandness. As for me, I'll get my fish from my local fishmonger - fresh - not frozen- and enjoy someting with real flavor. Cheers, John

Chewey, I'll try it if I see it. I'm always open to new tastes if they're not over the top crazy.

Tilapia is very high in fat, but low saturated. According to the statistics, its worse for you than beef. However people like it, its a cheaper fish and a better option than some stuff. I dont like it, probably because I have had to serve it every which way in the food business.I also dont like the fact that in American waters, its a total bottom feeder. I want to taste fish if I eat it, and there is no taste in tilapia alone. But go for it- the stuffing itself sounds good. I am with John-fresh fish is the best.

The ones at Costco are fresh, not frozen. I'm not sure what the stuffing is though.

We buy the Stuffed Salmon at Costco now and then. Two or three pieces per package. Janet loves the stuff, I give it a 6 on a 10 scale. Just my person tastes. The stuffing claims to contain crabmeat, but it is not a major ingredient thats for sure.

I find tilapia has a very distinct flavor; one advantage of it is that it is relatively firm, so it can be used in fish stews and stir fries without falling apart (a lot of Indian restaurants around her ehave been switching from kingfish to tilapia for their fish curries). I stay far, far, away from pre-stuffed fish, though. Bart
