Taco Bell had some sort of a breakfast burrito many years ago. They were very convenient to my store so I tried it..... once. Didn't finish eating it. The consistency was similar to what I believe rubber would be if chewed.

From what I could see, Taco Bell didn't actually cook anything on site until now. They just microwave, toast in those grill things, and steam the pre-cooked meat. I guess they're bringing in deep-friers for the hash browns? Dunkin Donuts also serves pre-cooked eggs and sausage patties, etc.

The article states that Jack-in-the-Box among others has been slow to follow suit in the breakfast game. JITB was the first fast food company to offer breakfast with the Breakfast Jack back in the 60's. Do your homework.

I do manage a Taco Bell and I can assure you there are NO microwaves in Taco Bell what so ever, and they have always had deep fryers because all the nacho chips, taco salad bowls, Mexican pizza shells, potatoes and caramel apple empanadas are fried, fresh, on site all day. Not sure how this breakfast stuff will be, as it won't be rolled out in my area for another 2 years, but I can assume the eggs will be precooked, just like the taco meat, chicken and steak, sealed in bags and plunged in 200 degree water.

VuduHippy, I'll run to the border here in AZ and check it out. I saw the signs recently. BTW - I am a fan of Taco Bell. I find the food to be a decent value. It is what it is. Jim

The breakfast looks totally uninspired.

what's supposed to be inspiring about a $.99 breakfast? It's A snack on the run to get something in your stomach before work or school.
