Great high standards (no shock there). First impressions set the foundation for future business. Kickin ass now...when you have to...means the staff gets used to no mistakes being the standard. When the standard is less than that...the same mistakes often happen over and over. People are human...and humans do learn not to make the same mistakes over and over and over.
