One half gallon hot water tank?

HD says I need a half gallon of hot water tankage. Can't find any that small. Anyone have a source? The tankless solutions are economical enough but a tad bulky. Links anyone? Thanks in advance.

An on demand (instant) style hot water heater should have only that much water in it.

Thanks in advance. Provide a water heater or instantaneous heater capable of heating water to a minimum of 100°F and interconnected to a potable water supply. A minimum water heater capacity of one-half gallon shall be provided.

That is minimum isn't it? ... You can have bigger 3 or 4 gal. tank usually heated by the cart's burner much the same as an instant-on type. ... Or is this for a trailer/truck?

It's for a trailer, I guess I'll give the Ecco L5 tankless unit a try. Chefbuba, yes, that's the same verbiage in our HD regs, but for some reason the HD said it should be separate dedicated water heater tank of 1/2 gallon capacity min. If the question it, I'll say what was said here, that it has a 1/2 gallon in it.

Seperate dedicated for what?? Hot water is hot water. Either you misunderstood what they are telling you or they are telling you some bs. You have to have a MIN 1/2 gal......you could have 100 if you wanted. Are you wanting to use on demand and they are not letting you?

I got one of those tankless systems off ebay for $100. Works great! Now let's see if HD likes it.
