Road Trip from Howell NJ to Lexington Va Wed, 02/29/12 5:44 PM (permalink)
Hey guys, I am going on a road trip this weekend with the guys from my band... just wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for places to eat between Howell NJ and Lexington VA. We tend to go for the classic "greasy spoon" type places, so any suggestions of this nature would be more than welcome.  Thanks!

Lunch:  G&M Restaurant & Lounge in Linthicum, MD. http://gandmrestaurant.com/  (crabcakes)

Dinner, Mrs. Rowe's, Staunton, VA.  http://www.mrsrowes.com/index.html (fried Southern everything)

Both are right on your way and "timed right".
Staunton is only a very quick 30 miles North of Lexington straight down I-81.

P.S.:  I'm assuming you're playing for some venue where V.M.I. or W&L students will be.  Please be nice to the young ladies from Mary Baldwin, Hollins, and Sweet Briar!

Next day - breakfast at White's Truck Stop just N of Lex on I-81.

Keeping you near I-66:  Lunch at the YorkshireRestaurant between Manassas and Centreville: http://www.yelp.com/biz/yorkshire-restaurant-manassas .  Try their "Top Hat" sandwich.  Or, if you all like 'cue:  Willard's BBQ in Chantilly:  http://dcbbq.com/ .

Dinner will be North of Philly; you know that territory better than me.
