Cotton candy takes practice. You have to stay close to the edge of the machine...as you twist the cone around...quickly. If you end up in the middle without a roll going...it will fly.

I did cotton candy once over a weekend event and after that i never did it again. The floss was all over and thats with a lid. Maybe I was doing it wrong but IDK.

It's not easy especially when left-handed. But fun eventually... and cotton candy is sexy!

cicconepizza, I too have a Paragon cotton candy machine. 8 years old and has about 20 minutes use on it. After the purchase, I found a used dome to go on it, but still haven`t used it. CCN, I too am left handed, tomorrow I`ll try to see how fun it is, and if cotton candy is sexy as you say it is, I might spend more time in this type of food vending. Wish me luck!

Creative and devilish we are...but try to learn anything from a righty. Yikes. I have seen root beer cotton candy types...I believe using crushed root beer barrel candies. Good luck Tater!!! Play some Barry White!!

Ohhh...sometimes our natural instincts tell us to go counter clockwise vs. the "normal" way. At least we have a little support group! We are the minority...as far as hands.

CC, lid or no lid, I found making cotton candy was not sexy at all.

The first time we made cotton candy(on our porch) it flew everywhere. Our Irish Setter was jumping in the air biting at it and chasing it. lol Not sure on your machine, but ours had a plastic like net that clipped around the side. One of the mistakes beginners make is they try to gather the cotton candy to quickly. Let it build up before you gather it. Practice practice practice. Hope this helps, Mike

Here is a science project and the most fun you can have with cotton candy practice. http://bacontoday.com/bac...andy-need-we-say-more/ Boy...a little science applied to Coke real sugar extract and a little almond and cherry extracts...poof...you may have close to the Dublin Dr. Pepper cotton candy project. That might sell for...who knows these days.
