I watched it live on CNN. The helo followed the tornado live for quite a while. It was incredible watching the huge trailers detached from the tractors being tossed hundreds of feet in the air and propelling them hundreds of feet from their origin. I would suspect that the area had mega damage. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Dodged the bullet; all clear now (18:28 CDT) here in my part of McKinney. No hail, lots of rain, the patio furniture didn't even move. It was a more than a little strange to be in the middle of the lead story on FNC and Drudge.

We were talking to Sharon's daughter who lives in McKinney and could hear the sirens blaring. Everything was good there and it totally missed Denison where her mother lives. We had different sites up on the computers and watched it as it moved. Very scary! Hope Twinwillow missed it.

It is heading right toward Vicksburg, MS exactly where I am supposed to be tomorrow. Yikes! Might have to make other plans. I was in East Texas last spring when a storm came through; the sirens were continuously going off. It was not fun.

Yesterday was "really something". DFW ("the Metroplex") is a 2,000 sq/mi area with an aggregate population of 6.5MM living in more than a dozen cities with populations of 100,000 - 350,000 plus the major cities of Dallas and Ft. Worth. Yesterday the weather radar had the whole area covered with red with many splotches of the dreaded pinks & purples. YIKES! What we call "the big airport" was hit hard with hail that hit the grounded planes, all of which are grounded pending inspections so air travel throughout the country will be affected for a few days. Clearly, George W. Bush is to blame for this!
