XXX Root Beer

I was in Bev Mo today looking for pear brandy which I won't buy for $40 a bottle when I only need 2 Tablespoons.... But, when leaving the store, I noticed refrigerated sodas. There it was, a root beer I've been told about for almost 15 years, XXX Root Beer is back! For a bottled root beer, it is everything I look for in root beer. It's smooth, has vanilla undertones, did I mention smooth with a taste that lingers. I've found the perfect bottle of Root Beer.

I've been hooked on Stewart's root beer since my first visit to Crabill's in Urbana, Ohio. I'm afraid I go through a four-pack every week-and-a-half.

ChiTown - Yes! The Triple XXX (doesn't that mean nine X's?) brand of root beer originated in Texas in the early 20th century. In 1985, they stopped bottling it, but it was still available on tap. In 2008, the Triple XXX restaurant in West Lafayette purchased the trademark, and they are the folks who have restarted bottling the root beer. There were once many Triple XXX restaurants around the country. Now there are two, both independently owned. The other is in Washington state.

Bruce- I just ate at the West Lafayette Triple XXX a few weeks ago for the first time. Loved everything about the place, especially the root beer.

Bruce- And the Duane Purvis All-American Burger, with the peanut butter on it, wasn't too bad either!

After Dublin tx, the oldest dr pepper bottler, lost the rights to bottle dr pepper, they now focus on triple XXX rootbeer, made with Imperial cane sugar in returnable bottles

As it turns out I had promised my wife to take her car to the dealer's in Richardson for an oil change. I just got back and the "Charcoal Burger" was good, the sweet potato fries were good and the "house made" root beer was as good as you said. A very Roadfoody place.

plb... I loved Del's charcoal burger. Mine didn't look like much but the taste was sublime as was the root beer. I'm type II or I would have had 2 of 3 of those mugs f root beer. Isn't Del's located in an odd spot? I learned about Del's from Metroplexjim, I believe.
