We returned to Main Street Cafe, 517 Douglas Avenue, Durham, Kansas for lunch today. It was as good, or better, than our visit last summer. Today's lunch offerings were bierocks or 2 homemade sausages, mashed or baked potato, carrots or baked beans, and one trip salad bar for $7.25 with $.75 iced tea or coffee, and $1.59 soft drinks. The homemade pies were all $2.25 per slice, except peach which was $1.75 per slice. My mother-in-law's ham and cheese sandwich (with a large thick oversizes slice of ham) was $3.40 on a bun. The Wedel's restaurant is open from 6:30am-2:30pm Monday-Saturday and from 5-8pm on Friday evenings. This is a true road food experience - with quality road food. The staff members and the owners are all members of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Durham is 30 miles south of Abilene on K-15.
