Three of the funniest EVER

OK, my sister gave me a link to old TV shows. In my dotage, I know I thought these folks were great, but never think to look them up. There's Chaplin and Keaton.......Lucy and Burnett.. Groucho and Red....Belushi and Akroyd.....and so many more But 3 that I will always cherish: Sid Caesar Ernie Kovacs Jonathan Winters Although, the funniest single scene I think for me is Jim"s Driving Test on "Taxi"..............."what does a Yellow Light mean?" Ok.I'll throw it open to Barbs and Best Memories

I haven't figured out how to use the YouTube button to insert a video, so this will have to do: http://youtu.be/sNyj4FV56JY ... I think this is about one of the best few minutes of TV (writing/acting/delivery/timing) ...

And Yes......MTM had their stellar moments and cast....Ted Knight.especially on the day he comes into the office in shoddy clothing after getting his food stamps or whatever..was another classic

kozel I vote for Jim on Taxi too, but my favorite is this... http://youtu.be/wtuIol9aYnw the preamble... http://youtu.be/rvQbgkUE97U One of the greatest ensemble of cast of all times, coupled with phenomenal writing. There were/are others........Cheers...MASH....Frazier...Hill Street Blues...Newhart (X2....and with one of the most creative endings of all times with #2)...younger folks might add in Friends.

Frazier was well written ... so were The Golden Girls. "Well written" IS the common denominator for good TV. (That may have been the secret to the success of Two and a Half Men.

Since I hated Charlie, I avoided watching Two and a Half Men, then ultimately became addicted to it; in spite of Charlie. The writing above all, but the cast is fabulous; Conchata Ferrell, Holland Taylor, Jon Cryer, Angus T Jones, Marin Hinkle, and Jane Lynch. It's a shame, I can't watch it now.

That Newhart ending to me is absolutly the best ever.

Younger folks???!!! Compared to what??? The younger folks I know were barely out of diapers when the show started nearly 20 years ago. The cast of the show are all around my age

The Bud Abbott/Lou Costello sketch "Who's On First" remains my all-time favorite bit. Watch it a hundred times and it's still as funny and clever. Genius. Then there's the Three Stooges.

A couple of others for the list - "WKRP" and "Barney Miller". There's a lot of agreement that the '70s were a golden time for movie creativity, and I'd say that holds for sitcoms too.
