Corbin Kentucky: The Dixie Cafe {est.1929} Prepares to Reopen

Grew up eating here. The Dixie had a multi decade run til it finally shuttered in 2005. It reopened as Vittorinos, an outstanding Italian restaurant that operated for 5 years before closing.
It's coming back.
The original Dixie was one of a dozen or so iconic restaurants in Southeastern Kentucky that specialized in chili buns {no dog, just chili spooned on a bun} it'll be interesting to see if they can recreate the old chili recipe that made them famous.
