Recently, Newsweek gathered numerous chef's from around the world to make a list of the 101 Best Restaurants in the world. While some of them were 5 star places, there were Food Trucks, Carts, Street Food, Food cooked on someone's porch; all sorts of places. The common denominator was just plain good food.
For example:
City Market Luling, TX - (BBQ) Here's Michael Sterns Review -
Franny's, Brooklyn, NY - (Pizza)
Husk Charleston, SC - (Pigs Ear lettuce Wraps)
Farmshop Santa Monica, CA - (Burrata & Fruit)
Momofuku Noodle Bar NY, NY - (Pork Belly Ramen) -
Osteria Philadelphia, PA - (Fresh Pasta)
Anthony Bourdain Recommends the taco Bars in Ensenada, Baja, Mexico
So, you see you don't need go to a 5 star place to have good food.
