Electrical Question

I'm looking at a piece of equiptment and I don't know the difference. 208-240 V, 50-60 Hz, 1ph, 4.4-5.5 A 21-24 KW 208-240 V, 50-60 Hz, 3ph, 4.5-5.9 A 12.7-14.7 KW Would someone be so kind to dumb this down for me? Thank you! EDIT: guess I should have done a little Google search first. Looks like the 3 phase motor is the way to go (seems there are less parts to break and you don't need as much power to run).
