any tips and tricks of the trade?

I'm new to the business aspect of BBQ and was just wondering if there were any tips tricks or anything that can help me be successful. Like what should i use to hold my done products so that they wont dry out. I make my own sauce which hasn't had a bad review as of yet but i think it is missing something .Just any types of information would be greatly appreciated.
