Southern California Loses Yet Another Favorite Restaurant

Land sold to someone who is going to put a different restaurant in the same place.  I hope it's boycotted forever by all the faithful Cottage diners.

I have only been to California once, back in 1999. I was lucky enough to eat at The Cottage. Great place..this is sad.

The owner(s) of the property could have at least had the decency to advise the The Cottage's owner as to what was going on rather than just spring the surprise sale of the property to another person who plans to open their own restaurant. Disgusting!

As a landlord I would have given them first chance to buying the property.
 
To spring it on them as they did was just not right.
 
Urth Caffé?  They're kicking out a landmark restaurant to allow a chain to buy it out from under them?
 
Let's get rid of Tadish Grill and sell the location to Starbucks!
 
I'll now boycott all Urth Caffé locations.

The owner of the neighboring restaurant didn't have much to say in The Cottage's defense...I wonder if he's thinking that he's going to be getting more business.

Slightly naughty. I really dislike places with cutesy names, either
for the place or the dishes. They do both.

Would be dead to me, I saw nothing on that menu I would eat.

Guess they think people that will buy a $5 cup of coffee will also want things with holes in them.

It looks like the show Clean House went Restaurant edition...and Niecy Nash pleased with them to put all the stuff (even Buddha) out for the garage sale.
