If I'm thinking about what I'll have for dinner while eating lunch does that qualify me?

You qualify before the meal is served...with cool table paraphernalia.

When I was a kid it was all fresh meat and fresh veggies.  The "spice cabinet" had Morton's salt and McCormick's ground black pepper.  The fridge had French's yellow mustard and Heinz' Ketchup.  An "exotic" meal involved Chef Boyardee's "Spaghetti Dinner Kit-in-a-box", complete with some dry stuff I called "par-meez-zi-han".

That was half a century ago.  Since, I have come to enjoy deep fried stuff, sauces, and even most charcuterie.  I still can't "do" sweetbreads, tripe, 'gamey' meats, or anything that is not muscle.  Progress, I'd say, but still well short of "foodie"!

BTW: I have always been able easily to perform a two-handed "Vulcan salute".  Clean upbringing, I guess.

Only tourists with empty pockets at the end of the day... salute with both hands here.

I can and have always been able to do the two handed Vulcan salute! And Jim, I have never felt it is the "snootiness" of the food I enjoy but the enjoyment of said food that has made me a lover of food (aka a foodie)!!
CCinNJ, you're a hoot! love your input!!
