Exhaust Hood Advice

Would you guys mind giving me some advice on an exhaust hood?  My ceiling will be 79" tall and I'm 6'2".  Equipment under the hood will be a 30x36 griddle, two burner and a 45lb fryer.  Here are the units I've been looking at:

Of concern to me is the height of the front lip blocking my view.  I have no experience working under a hood and some of them have lips as much as 14" tall.  I will also be venting out the back wall not out the top.  I'm leaning towards the Superior hood as it is 100% stainless except for aluminum filters and they are 20" instead of 10" or 16".  Any input before I make a $1500 mistake?

I have the model from Acity Discount but in 4 foot length. The front is only 4" and my ceiling is also 79" high. Fits just fine, plenty of head room in the front.

So if the same hood had a 14" front would it be an issue?

Yes, I think that would bump into your head, I specifically chose the model with the 4" front for the clearance.

Check your code requirements for the min. floor to front edge hood clearance.    I believe the max. distance is 48 " above the cook tops/surfaces is the usual max. distance given.   ... i wouldn't have the front edge lower than 6'6 above the finished floor.   Most cooks will bump their heads working under a lower hood.
