LIPTON TEA has CHANGED Fri, 03/1/13 6:00 PM (permalink)
HI All, I know some of you not only drink regular tea but also use it in various recipes. I've noticed lately that the newest boxes of LIPTON tea that I bought the tea are bland and mild. LIPTON for years has made a good quality tea in my opinion and I thought I was going nuts. Mentioned it at the little diner I go to and the owner's Daughter In Law said some people have asked about if the tea was bland or had they old bags in stock since the brisk flavor wasn't coming out.   Fair Enough, called the Lipton Tea Consumer Line and found out UNILEVER or LIPTON HAS CHANGED the way they not only are making the bags, but also what they put in them. Started last year but the whole line is now shifted with JAN 2013 from what they told me.  Also found out that Tomato Cup-A-Soup was discontinued also.   Seems IMHO that anytime UNILEVER takes over a company, the steady items that you've bought and used for years are either changed or discontinued right away, the only things not touched are the biggest selling ones. Just thought someone might want to know about the change. Take Care, Mark in NJ
