Prince's Hot Chicken

In Nashville, Prince's no longer fries their hot chicken in cast iron skillets. Due to increasing demand, they have switched to deep fryers in an effort to cut down on waiting time.

Not that I am aware of. It just takes more time than people are willing to wait, I guess. There is also talk about Prince's getting a license for on-premises beer sales. They are also thinking about franchising, but I don't really see that happening.

I was in Nashville this past weekend and made a visit to Prince's at 10:30 on Saturday night. The place was crazy, the wait was a little over anhour and I made the mistake or ordering "hot". I should have stuck with my usual "medium" order. I ate a chicken wing and couldn't eat another thing. I wondered about deep fryers but didn't really look that closely in the kitchen. Personally, I thought the chicken at Bolton's was a tad better.

400 degrees is looking to franchise too. Only 10K for a franchise (and all the chicken you can eat)

I ate at Prince's back in February after the glee club meeting. I was impressed by the size of the cast iron skillets. Not so much by the food.
