Gerber chicken sausage
Normally I'm not a big fan of poultry sausage but recently one of the local stores was clearancing Gerber
kielbasa and hot Italian sausage for $1/package, so I gave one of each a try. I direct-grilled the Italians last week and today I smoked the kielbasa for a couple of hours, and in each case I was pleasantly surprised. Both had pretty authentic flavor although the texture was a little different, and the only reason the Italians were a little dry was because I made very sure they were done.
I've had good luck with Gerber chickens and chicken pieces in the past so I guess this shouldn't be a surprise, and I thought I'd pass it along in case anybody here's looking for the occasional alternative to pork sausages.
