It's just a little effort--try midday--Come to Cappetta's Italian Deli on Orange Avenue in West Haven (near the New Haven town line) and you will find something better than Biscos!! The wafers are impoted from Italy and they are beyond excellent!!!

The shortage of sugar wafers must be a right coast problem. We have them in every major grocery (Supermarket} on the left coast. I did a little research last night after reading all of this. You are all right they are not cheap, but were they ever good. I had to eat a few to see if they were the real thing. Rex in expensive warm San Diego.

Did someone say Crab cakes and Vaccaaros, I am in even more there.
And I was there at the start.

I'm here to report that the Biscos sugar wafers were on the shelf at my local Safeway and that I purchased a package of them, thanks to this topic! [:P]

And I95, that was a beautiful piece! LOL Biscos are 110% sugar, I'm afraid--the work of the Devil... Looking forward to the Crabcake meet and eat next month.

Vacarro's is in Baltimore's "Little Italy" and the best reason for even being in that area............the best Italian cookies and most lucious ice cream desserts that one could ever want...It is a "must do" on anyone's list.

I have FOUND THEM!!!! Go to the Stop and Shop on Quality Street in Trumbull. (Go down Rt. 25, turn right at the beginning of the 4 lane, go about 3 miles, and turn left into Stop and Shop. $3.79. They have plenty.

The Shaw's in Allston doesn't have them either. Nor the Danish Wedding Cookies nor the Chocolate Fudge sandwich cookies, which may not even be made anymore.

I can't find them either. Have been looking in various stores where they are usually carried. Nothing in Oakland, CA. Does anyone know if they are no longer being manufacturered?

They just returned to Caraluzzi's market in Georgetown, CT, but so far, nowhere else... None of the supermarket managers with whom I've spoken had any explanation.

I know that you are looking for Nabisco Sugar wafers, but Aldi Grocery Stores has store brand "Mercer Sugar Wafers" available for 99 cents in a 14.1 ounce size. They come in Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate.

Four stores in Connecticut-Bristol, Torrington, Wallingford, and Waterbury.

If you are "jonesing" for the little sugar rush and cannot get the Namebrand, the store brand will hold you in her arms and say, "Have one more...It's ok!"

Interestingly enough.....I'm sitting here munching on such now. One of our Krogers stores are doing some massive remodeling and having a private sale of their own to reduce stock. Bisco's Sugar Wafers are buy one @ 3.68.....get two free.........

So i am craving a snack and go down to the vending machine here at work. And what do I spy on the bottom rack of the machine (where all the tasty treats hang out!): a package of keebler Sugar Wafers.

I have never had these, but due to this thread i had to give them a try. pretty good and pretty damn sugary. As expected.

They're back on the shelves in my neighborhood. The crisis is over. But you can feel smug about three boxes for $3.68! Last week I would have paid that much for three cookies.

I've been looking for sugar cookies..the ones with the waffle look and can't find them anywhere.I looked at the grocery stores in my town but i've only found the 'Biscos' i think the ones you're looking for, so yeah we have them here in Albertson's

I buy the Generic ones. Same stuff, lower price!

I haven't seen Nabisco sugar wafers around here for a couple of years, now. And they've been deleted as a product from the Nabisco Web site. I think they must belong to the ages.

Bill, a spot check of the Nabisco web site shows they do not list all their brands. The big multi-nationals (Unilever, Nestle, Kraft) no longer seem to list everything they sell on their web sites. AFAIK, they are still available. Some of Webgrocer's supermaket subscribers show them available for home delivery, such as D'Agostino's:
