Member's help me out. I'm leaving LaCrosse Wisconsin which is my home in late June of 2004. Riding a motorcycle to 2 events in North Carolina. We going to ride the I system till we get into Southern Illinois. No more interstates after that.Time means nothing to us both retired.Looking for Roadfood stops. We will look at all routes posted. We like staying at Mom and Pop motels as long as they're clean. We like to travel 2 lanes roads, but will do 4 lanes. Also side trips to interesting places. You can e-mail at willowway1@earthlink.net Put in "SUBJECT " space," ROADFOOD" that way I will open it. Looking forward to your help. Thank you "Birdhunter" from Wisconsin

Birdhunter, We have quite a thread going on Asheville, N. C. You may have to hunt it, but it's on here. That's quite a city for mom & pop restaurants. Do not miss the Five Points Cafe on Broadway - I think I remember that name and street correctly from my trip there. It's on this website somewhere, though... best breakfast I had while there, and I enjoyed some doozies. Enjoy your trip! Let us know what you find. Untraipsingly, Ort. Carlton in Athens, Georgia.

Going to tame the Dragon, eh? I may ride down there in June if I don't go to Laconia NH. I'm dying to try some southern BBQ.

Cruzuki, be sure to post a thread if you plan on going to Laconia. Bike Week is nuts, and lots of the best roadfood is away from the Weirs beach area. DaveM

There have been folks for many years trying to tame the dragon. It ain't gonna happen. Just look at all the trees along the way with the crosses and pics on them. At the end look at all the bike trash stacked up against the tree. Take it easy and live. That many turns in just a few miles is not inducive to a healty life. Take it from the Sundancer who has done the trip many times that it is best enjoyed sober and slow. Be sure and the the T shirt at the end of the line. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

One of the best places to eat in Asheville, NC is the Moose Cafe. It is adjacent to the NC Farmers Market which is close to the intersection of Interstate 40 and Interstate 26. They cook all fresh vegetables. Its a meat and 3 place, with good breakfast, lunch and dinners. Very good prices also. We drive to Asheville-about 2 hours just to eat at the Moose.
