La Ristra is the latest offspring of the family that own the Los Dos Molino's restaurants that have been lauded on Roadfood previously. They originated in NM and moved over here some years ago
It's been open about 4 months and features many of the dishes that originate in New Mexico including a Green Chile Cheeseburger that rivals anything you'll find in the Land of Enchantment!
La Ristra is a family owned and operated New Mexican Kitchen that honors traditions and cuisines of New Mexico and modern-day advancements in culinary greatness. Their recipes have been in their family for generations. Every year they go back to the Land of Enchantment to purchase the finest green chile, and again in late fall for the fiery reds. They roast the chiles to perfection and use them to enhance their cuisine. In any dish you will be able to taste some influence from old Spain and the evident flavors of New Mexico. They also provide several tasty non-spicy options.
They have Green Chile Pork Stew and Posole, Stuffed Sopapilla's & Carne Adovoda, Relleno's and serve items "Christmas Style". The also have over 100 different Tequila's!!
Incidentally, a Ristra is a string of Chiles that are hung out to dry and turn from green to red as they dry. They are usually hung by the front door as a welcome sign to visitors and are also thought to bring good fortune to the house.
