May 24 - Weber Smoke Mountain Smoke Day (& Pie, too)

My other thread got lost in the shuffle, so here's another alert. We'll be having our semi-regular barbecue and pie celebration on May 24 in Pewaukee. This coincides with International WSM Smoke Day X.

All Roadfooders (including crappy British kitchen sellers) are welcome. Send me a PM for the address and directions.

Seems pretty complete protein-wise.  Are you planning on any grilled fruits or vegetables?

And a bacon tart or quiche would certainly work.  Know anyone who makes pie crust?  If not I'm sure a frozen one would be just as good.

Sounds like a wonderful day. You can produce some amazing barbecue with the WSM's.

P.S. That Bananas Foster Pie sounds amazing.  It wouldn't be a bad thing if a piece or two made its way south of the Cheddar Curtain.  Just sayin'.

What's that bright pink wormy looking thing around the bacon-topped meat (4 pics up)?

And to think, I've got a bottle of Brobeck's Mustard BBQ Sauce sitting in my office with your name on it.  How like a serpent's tooth is an ungrateful ScreamingChicken.

Doesn't matter because I'm enjoying a lunch of leftovers made up of a wonderful smoked beef tenderloin and turkey leg, cheesey potatoes, tangy baked beans, and abe_froman's amazing Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings, proving, with a little ingenuity, you can turn bacon into a vegetable.

So happy you all had fun.  Before leaving Cleveland, I suffered through a crisp and refreshing Cambodian Chicken Salad followed by a heaping noodle dish containing ground and whole shrimp, ground pork, and a colorful array of veggies, all washed down with a tall Vietnamese iced coffee.  It didn't look as good as that brisket up above, but it was no slouch neither.

Ooh, I see there's pie dessert.  Who'da thunk it?

Those are silicon trusses. Much easier for me to use than butchers twine.
