Speaking of Ice Cream....

Its midnight...all the ice cream/custard stands are CLOSED...Mr Softee has gone home for the night..you want Ice Cream...you NEED Ice Cream..what supermarket brand do YOU turn to??

No brainer here: Breyers vanilla, van-choc-straw or Fudge Twirl[actually,just about ANY of the regular Breyer's flavors.]....Edy's doen't even come CLOSE...

Here in Midwest City the # 1 choice is Braum's after that it's Blue Bell.

No Breyer's for me, thanks. Not nearly creamy enough, and it always seems sort of icy. I love Edy's, but my newest find is Perry's brand Piece of Cake. Tastes just like a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

I have recently become hooked on Elan frozen lowfat strawberry or black raspberry frozen yogurt. It is so rich tasting. The strawberry has hunks of fresh berries in. I highly recommend it. Have not tried the other flavors. Please try it and see what I mean. beth

Ben N Jerry's is really good! I like the Cherry Vanilla IC (used to be called Cherry Garcia until they were sued by the family. Mr Garcia approved it but when he died, the family sued.)

Anything with coffee in it.

Dreyer's Dreamery.. just about any flavour!

Mint chocolate chip. Preferably Edy's or Homemade brand.

Of the supermarket brands, I've found that Breyer's and Dreyer's are pretty much interchangeable. So for me it's just a matter of which one's got the flavor I'm craving right then.

Usually I go for whatever new flavor of Ben & Jerry's (and there are more than I can eat lately!) peeks out at me from inside the cooler. But this week, Winn/Dixie had Edy's Grand on special... just over half price. They had FRESH PEACH!!!! I bought me a half gallon of it. Dagnabbit, I ate that whole half gallon up in three sittings. Fortunately, I've been walking a good bit, or I might not be able to for awhile.
It sure is nice to live in the fresh peach belt, even if they didn't use local peaches, I don't suppose.

Somebody needs to tell the people printing the cartons that, then. The pint stashed in my freezer right now says Cherry Garcia. I just checked.

It's been several weeks since I bought any, but yes, it's still called Cherry Garcia out west.

Plus, it's not just cherry vanilla ice cream, it still has those chunks of dark chocolate in it as well.

I have been getting pints of Steve's craft ice cream. Mexican chili chocolate and salty caramel. Delicious!

Turkey Hill Black Raspberry.  Not just a swirl of black raspberry, but black raspberry puree all the way through it.  Yummy!

Stroh's first, followed by Hudsonville. Flavour doesn't matter, they're all fabulous. And stores here carry pretty much every flavour they make anyway.

Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby, always. little bits of chocolate covered pretzels, more bits of peanut butter all in a vanilla/malt flavor ice cream. yum. yum. yum.
