Hello fellow 'Qers! Just wondering if you could help me find a good BBQ place to stop along I20 in east TX, somewhere between Shreveport, LA and Ft. Worth, TX? Thanks!! Rich, Erinn & Enka www.BluemaxxRacing.com

Bluemaxx, there's a place I used to stop at quite a bit; Blalock's in Mt. Pleasant. As you're heading west, I believe it's the 2nd Mt. Pleasant exit. Just north of I-20 a couple of blocks. Haven't been there in years, but I've heard it's still good. There's an east Texas chain called Bodacious BBQ that is good, so if you see one of those, they're worth a stop. The original is in Longview. I don't know if they have any along I-20.

There is a Bodacious BBQ on the northwest corner of one of the I-20 exits around Longview, in the rural area. Seems like it is just west of Longview. It has standard/unspectacular Texas BBQ and may not be connected in any way to the Florida outfit. There are signs on both approaches, east and west.

Dangit! Bluemaxx, disregard Blalock's. That's along I-30, not I-20. I just wasn't thinking right. You'll do OK stopping at Bodacious. It is NOT at all affiliated with the Florida one. Also, it is nothing like Central TX BBQ. It's more like what you'd find in the central east. Up the road in Tyler, I've heard there's a good place called Jake's. Haven't eaten there myself. Good luck, and sorry for the mis-direction.
