anybody remember kandy kakes being called tandy takes? i somehow remember them being spelled differently than they are now

Yes, they were called Tandy Takes until the 80's. If you search through some older topics, you'll find a long thread on Tastykakes. The name thing came up in that thread I think.

Yeah I do remember. Sometimes I slip up and call them tandy takes.

"TandyKakes" might be a spinoff company or maybe a regional knockoff.

Yes, I remember those. I haven't seen them in years and didn't even know the name had been changed. When I was growing up and we drove somewhere on a long trip, my mother would pack Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets. She would never buy them for home, only for trips, but ALWAYS for trips. (At the grocery store she would always buy Devil Dogs. I would ask for Ring Dings but she always brought home Devil Dogs!) Weren't the Tandykakes some kind of chocolate and peanut butter combination? (I don't think I ever ate one since they weren't butterscotch krimpets or devil dogs!)
