Can I make the BBQ oven at home?

Hi,

Dunno if I can get the BBQ oven in my country.

Can I make the BBQ oven at home if I manage to get the charcole and an iron grill?

Any other ideas .. pls share!

I have also seen BBQ/smokers constructed out of old metal refrigerators and clean, 55 gallon drums. In fact my "Joy of Cooking" book has instructions, complete with drawings, for building a BBQ/smoker out of 2, stacked 55 gallon drums.

On the Food Network, Alton Brown built one for home use out of a terra cotta pot, a terra cotta lid (I think the little plate that goes under the pot), a hot plate, a pie pan, a round grill grate and a replacement thermometer for a gas grill. He said it cost less than $50. It's from the episode "Q." I've been wanting to try it myself one of these days.

I live in a rented flat! dunno if I will be able to build and construct something for the BBQ. I would rather appreciate a dismantalable structure!
