Since July is National Hot Dog Month the following facts are note- worthy ---- 30 billion (with a B) dogs are eaten every year ??? Emily Post says you can start from either end when eating a hot dog. Left or right it makes no difference. You can even have one in each hand. How about that !!!!!! And, since I stumbled onto this recipe for Coney Island Sauce I shall pass it on-------- 1/4 # ground round 1 1/2 cups water 1) 6 oz can tomato paste 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish 2 tablespoons chili powder (more if you want---it's up to you) 1 tablespoon each--chopped onion, prepared mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt, sugar. Cook meat in large skillet over medium heat until browned---stir it up to crumble it------drain. Add the water and the rest of the stuff, stir well -----bring to a boil------reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes ( that's half an hour in New York ) stirring occasionally. Put that on your dog and hot diggity, it's delicious. Hey don't forget to cook the dog (NO, not that dog) and hold the whole thing together with a roll. A winner every time.
