Dearfolk, The closest I can come in Athens is The Big Mother, a pound of ground chuck on an immense roll with all the trimmings. It is sold at The Blind Pig on Mitchell Street, only two blocks from here at the U. Ga. Library. One night I did indeed finish off one of those, but it took both some time AND some doing... not to mention loosening my belt a notch. (I walked enough the next couple of days to bring myself back to my normal size, fortunately.) I'll have to pass on that monster at Denny's Beer Barrel, even if they do have Yuengling to help wash it down. If I'm ever up thataway, though, I might well drop in and have a brew or three and a sandwich... maybe one of their regular-sized hamburgers... or whatever local thing they have on the menu. - Clearfield, huh? - I bet the cheese is good. All Too Hungrily, Ort. Carlton in Lovely, Rainsoaked Athens, Georgia.

Never seen one bigger than that, though I wonder why anyone would want to. Biggest I have seen is the 2 lb.+ burger at Fat Mo's here in Nashville...

Looks good, except for all that lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, and that extra piece of bun.

Porkbeaks, that's always been my argument too, and the reason I would never try a giant hamburger.

The meat looks pretty good to me-take away the "extras" on it, and I might give it a try..

Hey Ann , I'm with you . We should have a roadfood visit to this place . I think 10 of us at 5 pounds each , we should be able to knock it out without much problem . Benzee

Make it 20 RFers and take on the 100-lb. "Main Event" burger, but at $380 each is going to have to pony up some cash. Dibs on the pickles... I wonder how much the bun and garnishes add to the weight of the different "challenge" burgers. Brad

My freind tried the 2 pounder, said he'd never try again. I read that a 100 lb girl ate the 6 pounder.only like 3 people ever did. I just dont like the height of it...whats the point if you cant get a bite with all the fixins on it? who wants a bite of, just bread, then just lettuce..etc.? my 2 pounder would be the size of a small pizza and about 3" high.

They have outdone themselves at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. Here is the new record 80-pounder (123 pounds total):
