truck air conditioning??

One of my last 3pieces of equipment I am missing is an ac. I cannot afford to purchase one of those roof mounted rv units. What's do you guys think of one of those portable stand alone ac units they sell at lowes? They are 13500 btu. I can get one for about 150 new.

Are you planning to sit it up from by the driver seat during work hours?

They're fine if you have the floor space. Remember cool air falls. That's the main purpose of a roof mount. You'll need a fan to push the air up. And don't forget about the exhaust hose it's big and stiff. I have one I only use in emergencies. Portable uses less starting amps than a rooftop. Hope this helps

i have one in my house. i bought a big on. i think they suck.
because the motor is in your house it put out a lot of heat.
even though you get cool air there is a lot of heat coming from the unit in the back.
    just my 2 cents.

In my experience dont do anything half assed so to speak.  There are plenty of people on here who opperate without ac.  If you need to open without one and save up money till you can afford the propper unit then go that way.  Why waste the 150 on something that doesnt work right and then have to go and buy the propper equipment later.

...???...   You don't have a duct to vent the hot air out a window?  These normally come with the unit.
