Do any of you concession trailer folks have any unique solutions for getting fresh water into your trailer and gray water out? I ask this to get away from the need for a commissary. Thanks K.Brody

I ask this to get away from the need for a commissary. Thanks K.Brody I use a 250 gallon water tank on site and I hired a guy to bring water to me every 3 or 4 weeks as needed. But in Springfield my trailer is considered a commissary. So I guess it depends on the health department in your area have you asked them? Jack

I don't need a commissary as long as I properly dispose of the gray water. I have a solution for the fresh water but am struggling a little with the gray water solution. I can hire a local company to pump me out but it is a little cost prohibitive. I need to install a much larger waste tank so I have to do it less often. Was your 250 gallon tank fresh or gray? Kraig

Kraig It's fresh, but I'd think about a two tank gray water system one that your sinks drain into and a pump to pump that on a need only bases to a larger gray water tank. Are you on a permanent site or do you move every day? Do you pull your trailer with a truck? If you put a bigger (250 Gal) tank in the back of a truck and use a sludge pump to move the gray water to the bigger tank in the truck you can dump it anywhere at the end of the day. You could use any sewer system even your home system if you have access to a drain. The pump I'm referring to will pump up to 50% solids and they are not expensive if you get an electric pump. Go to Lowes or better yet Farm Supply and get the same connectors that are used for transporting well water, in tanks. They snap on and off in a heartbeat. All of this part of the concession business is a big pain in the ass and I have been through it trying one thing and then another until I got the system down pat. Don't buy the $19.95 pumps on ebay they only last a few months. Get a good pump from lowes or another local big box store, that way you can return it if it fails in 6 months or so. Are you going to be open in the winter? That presents another problem and will force you to install heat tape and tank water heaters. But be sure and do that installation during the summer it's no fun installing all that stuff when it's 4 below zero outside. I know this from experience. Good Luck Jack
