My favorite place use to be the New Orleans House, in Indy. An all you cant eat buffet with king crab legs, raw oysters, mussels, etc. Price was about $40 per person (and well worth it) the last time I was there and that was a little over a year ago. I've heard rumor that they have closed, though. Please....someone tell me this rumor isn't true. I cried when they closed the one in Louisville which was even closer to me...but at least I knew I could get my fix if I traveled a little bit to Indy.

PammyJo, The New Orleans House was a fixture in the Louisville Scene. I miss it too. I knew there was one in Indianapolis, but had never been to that particular restaurant. Maaybe we can get some good Seafood to move into Corydon !! Your Neighbor AL- The Mayor

Al, I wish we had some good seafood in Corydon, too. If you find something really good and close by, say New Albany or Clarksville....let me know...Heck...take me with you

The Oceanaire has probably the best seafood in town, but you definitely pay the cost of them flying the fish in fresh daily. Also, I've been wanting to try the Majestic Oyster Bar downtown, but haven't made it there yet. St Elmo has a very good shrimp cocktail, but the one at Jeff Dunaway's Palazzo Ossigeno tastes just as good to me, probably because he used to be part owner of St Elmo and the sauce tastes similar.

It has been years since I was there, but I thought the Keystone Grill had good seafood.

Though I've never been there, I've heard of them when I lived down in Indy. I just did a quick search and the news is bleak. http://dinesite.com/info/rstrnt-36084?%3F&t=0 If you scroll down to the reviews you'll find that it's been closed... And patrons are not happy either. Sorry...

I know, UncleVic...I was checking that site out a few weeks ago when I heard the rumor and I even posted there when the one in Louisville closed. Sounds like some others are upset, too.

Oceanaire or Keystone Grill probably are best for seafood. There is a new place in a new shopping area north of town but I can't remember the name, and haven't tried it yet. If you want to cook the 56th St fish Market can't be beat for fresh fish--considering we're near no water they manage to get high quality FRESH fish on a daily basis. They also have a small cafe where you can get the best fish snadwiches in town. If fish and chips is your thing there is a real English fish and chip place--Rob N'Jays Chippy--which is excellent. For the person who mentioned it---The Majestic Oyster Bar no longer is--its become a Mo's Steakhouse.

"the majestic oyster" bar was fabulous in it's heyday[the 80's]i remember a historic building with beautiful high ceilings and a grand bar, heavy carved woodwork and waiters in long starched white aprons!
