Tamales? They sell food, too? All I ever got there was my wife!

Just curious what kind of rate you are paying there

I'm looking forward to my Red Roof Inn, cause I like the way they put money into comfy pillow top beds. I've been lucky with them.
(hate sleeping on real stiff beds)

Way to go! This thread really took off!
glad to see we are on the 2nd page now!
Full speed ahead!

ellen

p.s. Can we get name tags saying our name and where we are from?

ellen4641-
In the past two Roadfood tours, they also give you a nametag to fill out whenever you check in.

Besides your name and where you are from, can I suggest people also put their screenname on their name tag?

I bought my afternoon tickets from someone else a couple of months back. I'm not getting email updates from Stephen that some of you have mentioned concerning when to arrive, etc. So I would appreciate somebody keeping me posted if there is a change. Originally, it looked like a 1:00 PM kickoff if I remember correctly. But I noted in another thread it was stated by Sundancer to arrive at 1:45 & leave at 2. Can anyone verify the lastest info?

Thanks so much. See you soon.

$139 for two. Made the reservatioon some time ago, which may have made a difference. Also, I just discovered that I have a "patio or balcony," which I certainly don't need!

I'll be going on a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich pursuit in Wellsburg, IA that day to sample the best of 2006 according to the Iowa Pork Board. Maybe in the future I might want to join you all.

Just changed my reservation to the Red Roof Airport Donnalson Pike. (the Sheraton has been full for at least a month) Thanks for the tip Ellen4641! Mom has decided to come after all. I can hardly wait! Anyone have the street address where we're meeting in the afternoon so I can get directions???? Or am I just blind and overlooked it?

Meeting for both tours at the Loveless Cafe on Route 100.
You can go to their lovelesscafe.com website to get easy directions.

Glad you followed my "hot tip".
I love the $40.00 internet price, plus the comfy sounding mattresses.

p.s. Another possible hot tip......there is a bbq place just north of Red Roof Inn , right there on Donelson Pike. It's called Bar-B-Cutie... there are about 3 or 4 other Nashville locations. They are supposed to have the added bonus of a drive thru, plus known for their "white sauce".

I'll have to try their brisket

I teach my final class of the semester tonight...Then spend tomorrow getting the truck ready. It isn't a long trip down to Nashville (less than 200 miles) but when we take the dogs along we have to pack water and food for them too.

Friday and Sunday look sunny and bright with temps in the upper 70's to lo 80's. Saturday may see a few showers, but the temps will remain in the 70's so it won't be too bad.

like Al, I am cleaning up my car and getting packed for the trip on Friday morning.

My brother is coming down from Minneapolis. He bought one of my cars. I had a Mercury Marquis that I bought a year and a half ago. I only had 500 miles on it. I still have a truck and I think I have it sold also. It is a 2000 Silverado. I only have 9000K miles on it. I never drove it and as soon as he picks it up, I am on my way to Nashville where I will me lotsa new friends.

I do not have near the packing issue that The mayor has. I am putting the dog in the daughters hands. All I have to do is pack and go. I will have a clean car though.

You gotta be careful not to overdo it. I have done that before and by the second stop, you need a serious nap.
