Bourbon Sauce

Alcohol is not served at the Blue Willow Inn, but their bread pudding is greatly enhanced when topped with this simple bourbon sauce.

1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 cup bourbon


  1. Heat butter and sugar together in the microwave oven until the sugar is dissolved. Let this mixture cool slightly.
  2. Gradually add the beaten egg, whisking vigorously so the egg does not scramble.
  3. Add bourbon and mix.
  4. Cool and serve.
