Technically, two pieces of bread and a piece of flounder make this a “sandwich.” But we defy anyone to pick it up and eat it that way. The flounder is too tender and falls apart; plus, it’s three times bigger than the bread. For us, it’s finger food … delicious finger food.

While there are no seats for dining at the Fish Net, there is a bench where you can sit and wait while your food is cooked. Here’s Jane, waiting for an order of Jesus crabs.

A nice combo plate of fried shrimp and deviled (Jesus) crab. Both are extremely salty and demand plenty of sweet tea or soda pop to drink on the side.

We might not have stopped at this tumbledown seafood market if our friend Sue Highfield hadn’t tipped us off to the good eats inside.

One weatherman predicted that the temperature-humidity index was going to hit 129 the August day we stopped at Fishnet Seafoods. That is why my camera lens fogged up the moment I stepped out of the air conditioned car.

Shortly after Fishnet opened at 10am, they still were putting out fresh fish on ice. Here you see the beginning of a school of flounder.

Fishnet is a very religious place, decorated with quotes from scripture.
