For an extra buck, you can buy the mixture of peppers, onions, and tomatoes known as Serbian sauce. It's a good complement to the fish and it's even better on the mashed potatoes.

Today's Serb Hall was built in 1950 but expanded dramatically in the 1980s, then renovated again in 1999. The Friday night fish fry tradition began in 1967. About a ton of fish is served each night.
