De Dutch

4916 130th Avenue SE , Calgary, AB, XX - (403) 257-9303
There are a handful of De Dutch Pannekoek Houses in Western Canada. as the name suggests, pancakes are the house specialty -- plain, topped only with a bit of powdered sugar or heaped with hash to become one hugely hearty meal. The simple pannekoek is a foot-wide cake barely one-quarter inch thick. More satisfying than an ordinary slimline crepe, one of these pancakes with a pitcher of (extra-cost) real maple syrup makes a delightful breakfast.

You will pay a little extra to get a silver pitcher of real maple syrup, but this elegant pancake deserves no less.
