Johnny's Reef

2 City Island Avenue, The Bronx, NY - (718) 885-2086
Johnny's Reef calls itself 'a little bit of New England in the Bronx.' Seafood is what it's about: fried shrimp, scallops, and oysters, as well as filet of sole, red snapper, soft-shell crab, and smelts. Outside picnic tables afford a view of Long Island Sound and Queens.

Johnny's Reef on a cool day in the off-season. The outside tables, which overlook the Long Island Sound and Queens, are usually much more crowded than this. You can see some of the ever-present pigeons, though.
