Small-town cafés get no cozier than this. The menu is short. The daily-special blackboard lists two entrees along with a list of eight vegetables. Enjoy breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy or a pair of biscuits, one sandwiched around a sausage patty, the other enveloping a slice of delicious country ham.

We loved the ham biscuit. The ham packed powerhouse flavor and the biscuit had just the right creamy texture to balance it. The sausage patty on the other biscuit was ok, but next time we're going to get two with ham.

This old gent was sitting at the table watching TV when we arrived, and he was still there when we left. We'd bet he'll be there next week, too.
