Amigo's Deli

130 West St., Danbury, CT - (203) 790-7683
Amigo's deli is a short-order Latino restaurant, butcher shop, and grocery store. Come for a simple breakfast sandwich or a BLT or a wide variety of Cuban and South American specialties that lace the air with savory perfume. Available hot meals include gorgeous rotisserie chicken. The Cuban sandwich is a good one!

It's the pork that makes this sandwich sing, for it is fresh-cut from a long-cooked roast and fairly radiates sweet-pig flavor.

A neighborhood grocery, cafe, and butcher shop, Amigo's is a friendly place frequented by locals, workmen, and visiting omnivores.

This was the pile of roast pork and sweet onions assembled to fit into my Cuban sandwich. Amigo's knife-and-fork meal of hot roast pork is a winner, too.

While all the usual North American sodas are available, I had to sample these two oddities: Goya malt beverage, made in Pennsylvania, and 'Tutifruti' soda, bottled in Mexico.
