All About Dem Wangs

1381 Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, TN - (901) 946-1747
Its motto: "Just Doin' Our Thang With Dem Wangs." Sure enough, the Wangs here are superb. They are jumbos, fried to a luxurious crisp and available simply seasoned (a beautiful thing) or bathed in several different degrees of hot sauce. A lot of business is take-out; for eat-in customers, there are a handful of tables up front.

It was this sign along Elvis Presley Boulevard that caused us to pull over and try the Wangs.

These Wangs are vigorously seasoned, but without the red hot sauce. The carrots and celery are tossed in the bowl with the Wangs so they, too, are spicy.

While there is a small dining area, all customers step up to this window to get their food in disposable Styrofoam containers. It seemed to us that a vast majority of business is take-out. In fact, a 100-piece party-size platter is available for $76.00.
