Bogus Creek Cafe & Bakery

Highway 35, Stockholm, WI - (715) 442-5017
Breakfast is served all day at the Bogus Creek Café, and it tastes especially good if you arrive bright and early and can enjoy it on the café’s sunny garden deck. Check out the Bogus hash, which is eggs scrambled with ham, onion, and pepper, and topped with cheese; and pay particular attention to anything baked: sticky buns and sweet rolls, muffins and scones, and a unique item known as a bassant, which is a cross between a bagel and a croissant – a little chewy, a little flaky – served with walnut and raisin cream cheese.

"We arrived at Bogus Creek at about 11 in the morning and were the only ones there. It must have been the waitress' first day on the job. It took forever to get our beverages: tea, juice and coffee. Once the coffee arrived, it was cold. All this aside, the waitress ..."   [Read More]

Considering this is Stockholm, thin Swedish pancakes with fresh lingonberries seemed like the proper choice.

Fresh-squeezed orange juice in Wisconsin was much appreciated. And when I asked for a glass of water, they brought out a carafe.

Slightly crisp on the outside, feathery inside, and completely blanketed with cinnamon sugar, the Swedish donut is a Bogus Creek Bakery signature dish.

I normally hate eating outside, but this beautiful setting proved to be irresistable.

Never in my life have I had French toast like this. Very tasty and could easily be served as a dessert. Browned and chewy on the outside and gooey in the middle.

Cranberry walnut bread usually is pretty heavy. Bogus Creek's is lighter weight, easy to keep on eating.
