R.O.’s Bar-B-Cue

1318 Gaston Avenue, Gastonia, NC - (704) 866-8143
Regarding Gastonia’s local BBQ allegiance, fans of R.O.’s are legion. Just as popular as their finely minced pork is their savory slaw, which is also sold in area grocery stores. It’s a saucy slaw that accompanies R.O.’s BBQ, and it’s a great dip for crackers and chips. Pimento cheese is another draw, as is a regional soda, Cherry-Lemon Sun-Drop, mixed by the counterman and heavy on the cherry flavor, provided by a liberal dose of Cheerwine.

This chunky, spicy slaw serves as the savory adhesive that keeps a minced barbecue sandwich together.
