Cecil’s Café

13 Iowa Ave. East, Marshalltown, IA - (641) 753-9796
Cecil’s is quite literally a crossroads diner, where locals and travelers meet from five o’clock in the morning through supper time for simple meals that start with bacon and eggs and cinnamon rolls to deluxe hamburgers and hot beef sandwiches. The other meal we recommend is a tenderloin pounded-thin that is breaded and fried crisp and served on a bun.

Don't be fooled by the top hat on this bird. Cecil's is not by any means fancy. It is a friendly spot that has been welcoming locals and travelers for more than half a century.

Cecil's cinnamon roll, if not elegant, is big and sweet and goopy.
