Doumar’s Cones & Barbecue

1919 Monticello Ave., Norfolk, VA - (757) 627-4163
Doumar’s of Norfolk is marked by a sign with two big ice cream cones on either side, a reminder that Abe Doumar, the founder, invented the ice cream cone. You can still get your ice cream served in a freshly-made waffle cone, but before dessert, this is a great place to eat cheeseburgers and hot dogs, as well as peppery pork barbecue sandwiches, served with cole slaw inside the bun.

Doumar's has an unusual preparation for their hot dogs. The wiener is split in half, grilled and presented on a hamburger bun.
