Threadgill's is a big old beer hall with a big menu of very big food. The chicken fried steak is definitive, as are such side dishes as San Antonio squash, fried okra, garlic cheese grits, and squares of warm cornbread. Aside from food, Threadgill's has long been known as a nexus of the Austin music scene.
